His dry wit and stories in between songs matched with his beautiful songs and hits made for an outstanding experience! Kudos to Ed McCain! He rocks!! Rating: 5 out of 5 Best concert ever!! by Nan on 2/16/23 The Charleston Music Hall - Charleston. He continues to follow his two passions, splitting his time between restoring dilapidated boats and performing his beloved alt-rock tunes on tour. Since then McCain has remained prolific, releasing albums every few years while also launching his reality TV career with the Animal Planet series Flipping Ships. He scored another hit in 1999 with "I Could Not Ask for More," the lead single off his third album Messenger. The record spawned "I'll Be," a Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 that remained a rock radio staple well into the 2000s. The album was a moderate success, but McCain's real breakthrough came a few years later with his 1998 sophomore album Misguided Roses. In 1994 he joined Hootie and company on the Atlantic Records roster, making his major label debut the following year with Honor Among Thieves. South Carolina-born Edwin McCain began self-releasing albums in the early '90s and made a name for himself on tour with longtime pals Hootie and the Blowfish. Whether he's performing his '90s hits or playing new material written for Flipping Ships, McCain always steers a course of good vibes and great music at his must-see live shows. McCain's husky voice and knack for catchy melodies are as impressive as ever, and the same commitment to craft that has led him to restore boats remains ever-present in his music. At his live shows he's joined by his talented backing group the Edwin McCain Band, which helps him bring nostalgic favorites like "I'll Be" and "I Could Not Ask for More" to life with energetic guitar, bass, keyboards, saxophone, and drums. McCain made headlines in 2015 when he signed on to the Animal Planet series Flipping Ships, which follows him as he restores abandoned ocean vessels with his company Boats Have Souls, and the songs he's written for the show have introduced his music to a new generation of fans. Late-'90s alt-rock mainstay Edwin McCain continues to draw serious crowds anytime he performs his nostalgic guitar-driven tunes in concert.
